Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Team Lead assists in planning, facilitating, and managing the activities of the designated department while providing direct patient care and serving as a trusted resource for other team members.

Job Responsibilities

Provide and/or share patient care with other staff members and providers partnering with other disciplines to ensure that planning and implementation of care is coordinated and collaborative in nature.
Consistently and clearly document to ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for patient care areas as well as projects and tasks at various stages of development. Support the implementation of policy, procedure, and department level change.
Serve as a resource on technical and professional matters for personnel and facilitate effective functioning of care teams by ensuring individuals know and understand roles, functions, and responsibilities (BRIEFS, HUDDLES, DEBRIEFS)
Coordinate daily staffing assignments and regularly round on staff within the department. Ensure staff members receive breaks and meals as appropriate. Coordinate with physicians to add cases and communicate any delays or changes.
Use and troubleshoot medical equipment safely and effectively to carry out planned nursing interventions when assisting staff and obtain medical equipment as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Associate Degree from an accredited school of Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor of Science from an accredited school of Nursing

Experience Requirements

Minimum: Three (3) years of area appropriate clinical experience and current experience in the role of the charge nurse
Preferred: Other leadership experience, department specific certification

License/Certification Requirements

Registered Nurse valid to practice in the state of Indiana
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association)
