Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate plan of care for stable and critically ill patients and families which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
- Meets the educational and informational needs of the stable and critically ill patient and family, utilizing appropriate principles of teaching/learning.
- Promotes safe, efficient, family-centered care to stable and critically ill patients.
- Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
- Direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013 without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date
- Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
- RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO,
- MO or KS Mulistate License required within 60 days of hire
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications required Upon Hire
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $33.33/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
