Job Description

The Day Hospital is a same-day procedure area serving a wide variety of patient populations and service providers. This position provides bedside care to pediatric and adult patients pre- and post-procedure and during infusion therapy.

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills.

Principal Accountabilities

Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
Records patient vital signs and medical information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Current NJ state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification

Preferred

3+ years of experience in Nursing, adult and pediatric experience preferred
At least 1 year of pediatric IV skills preferred
Perioperative and critical care experience preferred
ACLS and PALS certification within 2 months of acceptance of role
