UofL Hospital, a 404-bed academic teaching and research hospital, is at the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. UofL Hospital offers a second-to-none cancer center, world-renowned trauma team and a uniquely streamlined, nationally accredited stroke center—the latest innovations in a history of world-class care. UofL Hospital is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the region, which includes the only dedicated burn center in Kentucky.

We are a designated Baby-Friendly birthing facility by Baby-Friendly USA. The designation is awarded to birth centers that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding. UofL Hospital’s Center for Women & Infants is the only downtown Louisville facility to earn this designation. It’s the fourth facility in Kentucky to have it.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Mother Baby
Newborn Care
Antenatal patients
GYN

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
All new graduate RNs will participate in the nurse residency program and successfully complete all activities as required.
All new-hire Associate degree registered nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Two (2) years of nursing experience in speciality area
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) if experienced RN
