Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

Ensures that appropriate portion of Outpatient and Inpatient nursing assessment of patient is completed, standard of care initiated and all necessary consent forms are signed.
Initiates/documents preoperative and discharge planning and patient teaching involving patient/significant other.
Assures all lab work, EKG, and x-rays are obtained, and initiates the PAT Protocol.
Analyzes pertinent data, communicates findings, documents information accurately.
Acquires/maintains current knowledge related to Preadmission Nursing.
Provides accountability for area of assigned responsibility.
Organizes/prioritizes pre-operative teaching for a routine day in the preadmissions area.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
One year experience in area of clinical expertise to which applying preferred.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
