12 Bed All private treatment rooms
24/7 Full-service emergency care including pediatrics
Treatment for minor illness and injury (sprains, strains, breaks, falls, coughs, colds, UTIs)
Care of major medical concerns (drug overdose, burns, GYN, sepsis)
Treatment for heart concerns (chest pain, shortness of breath, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrest)
Treatment for respiratory issues (asthma, COPD, respiratory arrest, shortness of breath)
Treatment for life issues (animal bites, allergic reactions, cuts, wounds)/li>
Treatment for emotional wellness (acute and chronic behavioral health)
Advanced imaging equipment including 3D mammography, CT scanner, digital ultrasound, digital diagnostic and portable X-rays
Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our 24/7 free standing ED, you will provide highest quality of care with private treatment rooms, including specialty rooms for trauma, pediatric and behavioral health patients. You will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient’s needs. We also use the most advanced diagnostic technologies including an on-site laboratory, dedicated digital X-ray room and computerized tomography (CT) scanner.
Your Primary function in this role is to instruct and educate patients and their family members.
As a member of our ED you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patients discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What qualifications you will need:
One year experience in Emergency services is preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
