Position Purpose: Providesbasicnursingcaretoresidentswithinthescopeofthenursingassistantresponsibilitiesandperformsbasic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
·SuccessfulcompletionofStateApprovedNurseAideTrainingandCompetencyEvaluationProgram;Namemust appearon State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
·Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff;Must have the ability to read and write.
·Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
·Participatesinandreceivesnursingreportuponreportingfor duty.
·Assistsresidentswithresidentcareincludingbathing,grooming,hygiene,andplacementofadaptiveequipment.
·Explainsprocedurestoresidentsbeforeadministering.
·Keepsresidentsdry(changesgown,clothing,linen,etc.,whenitbecomeswetorsoiled)
·Changesbedlinensandkeepslinenstighttoavoidwrinklesfromformingunder residents.
·Makesbeds(occupiedandunoccupied)
·Handleslinensaccordingtoinfectioncontrolguidelines
·Assistsresidentswithbowelandbladderfunctions.
·Assistsresidentsinpreparationforandtransportingtoappointments,activities,andsocialprograms.
·Assistswithlifting,positioning,andtransportingresidentsintoandoutofbeds,chairs,bathtubs,wheelchairs,lifts, etc., in keeping with specific resident safety needs.
·Assistsresidentsinambulationwithorwithoutself-helpdevicesas instructed.
·Performsrestorativeproceduresasinstructed.
·Accuratelymeasuresandrecordsheightsandweights.
·Accuratelymeasuresandrecordstemperatures,pulses,respirationsandbloodpressures(TPRsandB/P)as instructed.
·Emptiesurinarydrainagebagsandrecordsamountinrecordasindicated;reportsanyirregularitiestonurse.
·Ensurescalllightsarewithinreachofresidentsandanswerscalllights promptly.
·Ensuresthatresidentswhoareunabletocallforhelparechecked frequently.
·Ensuresthatresidents’personalcareneedsarebeingmetinaccordancewithresidents’wishes.
·Reportsallchangesinresidents’conditiontosupervisorassoonaspractical.
