Job Summary
This position is a 10-12-week internship program which prepares the new Graduate Nurse for a Registered Nurse position on a general care pediatric unit. Orientation includes a combination of educational sessions and precepted bedside clinical experience. A two (2) year commitment with a minimum of 32 hours/week (0.8 FTE) is required for candidates hired through the internship program.

12 East Mott is a 32-bed pediatric medical-surgical unit, with an age range from infant to young adult. The primary services include GI, pulmonary, pediatric surgery, OTO, plastics, general pediatrics and neonate graduates.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour
- Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
- Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

Salary & Nursing Framework Level
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort.
Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*
- The candidate must be a Graduate Nurse or a newly licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. The candidate must not have yet practiced as a Registered Nurse.
- Successful completion of the NCLEX must occur prior to the start date of the nurse internship.
- This position requires standing/walking/positioning/pulling/lifting of heavy patients and objects for long periods of time.
In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Work Schedule
Hours per week: 32 hours, Flexibility will be available for hours to range from 32-40 hours per week.
Shift: Nights, Up to 50% weekend requirement
Location: C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
