This is a part-time, 20 hr position, M-F 10am-2pm or 9am-1pm, hybrid opportunity, must be onsite on Wed.
Under the clinical direction of the Lipids and Metabolism unit Medical Director, and in collaboration with the supervising providers and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Nursing practice, the Lipids and Metabolism Nurse will be responsible for the care of patients in the outpatient department of Lipids and Metabolism.
We are looking for a RN with experience and knowledge of this specialty who is familiar with working in a tertiary/academic hospital setting to join our fast-paced busy outpatient clinical practice.
• The RN will help facilitate the intake and triage of patients for assigned faculty, including working closely with their provider and support staff teams to triage patient symptoms, facilitate access to the clinic, return patient calls, assist with medical prior authorizations, respond to patient portal messages, provide patient teaching sessions (educational and pharmaceutical), assisting in office procedures and help to assist in clinics as directed.
Skills and Experience
• One-year nursing experience required, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or community health setting.
• Able to prioritize promptly to respond to competing demands with a complex patient population.
• Acts independently, but, more importantly, will function as a member of our health care team. The nurse should maintain a level of professionalism that communicates our philosophy of caring for all our patients and /or colleagues with respect as an integral process of our mission as we care for patients.
• Exceptional computer skills (including operating systems, word processing, database, electronic mail, Internet, spreadsheets, and other office management systems); Ability to develop and maintain databases and associated analysis and reporting.
• Experience working with Epic care, preferred.
• Exceptional Time Management and organizational skills. Ability to organize time and priorities effectively, asking for direction when appropriate. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures.
Education/Degree
ASN required, BSN, preferred
Licensure, Certifications, or Registration
• Active/Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Certification- Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must maintain all required licensure and certifications; must meet annual CEU requirements.
