Job Summary and Qualifications

Assists in providing care to patients in the O.R. Acts as a scrub person safely handling instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures. Knowledgeable about the procedure being performed. Able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality care in accordance with established nursing service standards of practice.

Achieves professional goals set during previous evaluation period
Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct at all times
Demonstrates and maintains good employee/peer relationship and teamwork
Prioritize work and duties and must work well under stressful situations
Demonstrate good communication and customer service skills with patients, families, physicians, peers and healthcare team
Shows functional and technical knowledge and skills to effectively perform and manage assigned L&D surgical cases and LDR cases
Demonstrates an awareness of cost containment and endeavors to conserve where possible.
Participates in Performance Improvement Activity

What qualifications you will need:

Six months recent scrub experience required. Minimum 1 year hospital O.R. experience preferred.
NBSTA
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
