Job Title: Lead Caregiver – Full-Time Opportunity
Location: Various Client Residences throughout New Castle County and HomeWell Office (Smyrna Delaware)
Schedule: Full-Time; 40 hours per week with travel required

HomeWell Care Services Delaware is seeking a Lead Caregiver to support our team by ensuring high-quality service delivery, mentoring caregivers, and enhancing the client experience. This role is ideal for aseasoned caregiver who wants to grow into a leadership role while maintaining a direct client caseload.

We welcome experienced caregivers to apply! Whether you have at least two years of experience as a Caregiver or Home Care Aide—or you hold an HHA or CNA certification (which is a plus but not required)—this role could be a great fit for you. As a licensed Personal Assistance Services Agency (PASA) in Delaware, we provide non-medical, personal assistance services that enhance the quality of life for our clients while respecting their dignity and independence.

Your Role as a Lead Caregiver

As a Lead Caregiver, you will play a dual role of caregiver and mentor by:

Providing direct client care while ensuring a high standard of service.
Conducting scheduled and unscheduled home visits to assess client satisfaction and caregiver performance.
Reviewing client care plans and making recommendations for updates to the care team.
Ensuring caregivers are following care plans accurately and addressing service gaps.
Acting as a mentor and resource for caregivers, providing support and guidance.
Facilitating introductions between new caregivers and clients for smooth transitions.
Observing caregiver interactions with clients and providing feedback to Field Trainers for training needs.
Assisting in investigating and resolving client or caregiver concerns while escalating issues as needed.
Maintaining accurate records of client feedback and service quality observations.
Collaborating with HomeWell office staff to ensure smooth service operations.
Providing temporary shift coverage when needed to maintain continuity of care.

What We’re Looking For:

Experienced Caregiver: Minimum of two years in home care, home health, or a related field.
Mentorship & Leadership Potential: Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to support and develop caregivers.
Problem-Solver: Ability to assess client and caregiver needs and take proactive steps to address them.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: Ability to document and report caregiver performance and client feedback effectively.
Reliable & Professional: Dedicated to maintaining high-quality service standards.
Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation: Travel between client homes required.

Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Completion of a TB Test is required.
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
