Charge Nurse - Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical - Days

Work hours: Full Time (7a-7p) Days

Medical Surgical Department Highlights

30-bed General Medical Surgical Tele unit - 20 beds on 5th floor and 10 bed overflow consisting of mostly surgical patients
Fast paced, quick turnover
Experience with tele, surgical, plastics, bariatrics, spine highly preferred.
1:5 patient ratio, PCT for every 10-15 patients

What You Need

Associate Degree Nursing required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
Other- CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
1 year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
2 years’ experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 days required And
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support charge only 90 days required

What You Will Do

The Charge Nurse role will be committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.

Role

This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Individuals in this role will demonstrate:

Quality Management - Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Conflict Management - Understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking - Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Flexibility and Adaptability - Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.
