The Oncology Nurse Leader (RN) is part of the leadership team and recognized as a clinical expert in their functional area of expertise, providing leadership, knowledge, experience and application of evidence based practice in an ambulatory setting, and in alignment with HHC’s vision, core values and leadership behaviors..

This position is responsible for working closely with the manager and provides guidance to staff to ensure the delivery of safe quality care in an outpatient setting. In addition, this position supports the daily coordination of care while ensuring operations in the department are within compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures, and safe practices.

The Oncology Nurse Leader also assists in providing service recovery, as well as engaging the multidisciplinary team to identify solutions for patient care situations.

Qualifications

Education:

·BSN or Diploma/ASN with equivalent experience.

Experience:

·3-5 years of nursing experience with 2 years of current Oncology nursing experience

·Outpatient oncology experience required

Licensure, Certification, Registration

·Current CT RN license.

·BLS / RQI

·Obtains/Maintains ONS Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy Provider Card

·OCN or other oncology board certification within 1 year of hire (for current colleagues within 2 years of March 1, 2024)
