Pediatric Surgical Unit Information:
The 48 bed, Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit’s patient population includes a variety of diagnoses and specialty services such as Pediatric Surgery, Kidney, Liver/GI, Urology, Plastic Surgery, and ENT
Nurses on the Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit excel in pre- and post-surgical inpatient care and wound care, as well as kidney, liver, and intestinal transplantation care management and education.
Teamwork is at the core of the Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit care delivery where nurses collaborate with physicians, APPs (Advanced Practice Providers), allied health professionals, and family services providers to provide an individualized, comprehensive approach for each patient and family.
Position we are hiring for:
• Rotating Shift (depending on experience) and every third weekend.
• Staff must remain in current position for at least six months before qualifying for position changes
• Position openings for different start times will be released by the Scheduling Committee based off of unit needs; positions are filled by seniority
Minimum Qualifications:
1. BSN, RN or higher. ASN permitted if willing to return to school for BSN within 2 years of hire.
2. Current licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois, active and in good standing.
3. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
4. One year experience as an RN required.
5. Pediatric Inpatient experience preferred.
