Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The CRNA Anesthesia Administrator serves as the overall administrator for the Nurse Anesthesia program, including program curriculum development and maintaining compliance with the Council on Accreditation (COA) standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. Develops, promotes, and maintains effective working relationships and open communication with staff, physicians, faculty, patients, families, students and other department staff and leadership.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Doctorate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Experience:
- Experience in graduate nurse anesthesia education.
- Experience in graduate-level curriculum development.
Research knowledge and/or experience.
Current member of the national and state organization of American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA).
Employed by Associated Anesthesiology Group or Saint Francis Medical Center.
Licensure/ Certification: IL Reg Nurse License or MI Reg Nurse License
Certification by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists OR accredited CRNA program and APN Advanced Practice, BLS from American Heart Association and ACLS from American Heart Association.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Excellent clinical skills.
- Excellent interprofessional and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills essential for coordinating student clinical activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 5 years of experience in the clinical setting as a CRNA.
3 years of management and teaching experience.

Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist completes preopperative patient assesments and prepares and maintains necessary tools and resources for procedures. Responsible for evaluation of anesthetic agents used for patients before, during, and after procedures. Actively observe and assess patients throughout the course of procedures and ensures safe patient emergence from anesthetic. Performs supplemental anesthesia duties in situations as needed and directed by anesthesiologist. JOB SPECIFICS: Saint James -John W. Albrecht Medical Center has 3 ORs and 2 Procedure Rooms We have a mix of GI, Gen Surg, Ortho, and Podiatry. We also perform simple gyne and cataracts once a month. Our typical volume depends on the day. GI days are typically higher volume than Ortho/Gen Surg days. Overall, we average about 7-12 cases/day. Regional experience is preferred but our highly skilled teams will train you.
