What You’ll Do

The successful applicant will work directly with the collaborating internist to manage the medical issues of the patients at FTC North.

Your Responsibilities Would Include, But Not Limited To

u Perform admission H&P examinations as well as annual exams.

u Initiate screening and diagnostic procedures.

u Develop and implement medical treatment plans and monitor for effectiveness.

u Prescribe medications for medical illnesses.

u Work in an interdisciplinary team including psychiatric providers, social workers, psychologists, dieticians, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists.

u Refer to outside specialists at BJC, SLU, and St. Mary’s Hospital as needed.

What You’ll Need For Success

Minimum qualifications : A Graduate degree (APRN, Physician Associate, DNP) in internal medicine or family practice. At least 2-years’ experience.

Preferred skills : The ideal candidate will have experience providing medical care to a psychiatric population.

Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

The facility is a 75-bed forensic inpatient state psychiatric hospital with 3 units (25 beds per unit). The average length of stay for our patients is between 6-9 months. We focus on competency restoration for patients who have been found incompetent to stand trial.These patients may have a major mental illness, a brain injury, an intellectual disability, or a medical illness that causes them to be unable to assist in the legal proceedings against them.
