IU Health University Hospital’s Hematology/Oncology Unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in Acute Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Sarcomas, and Intestinal Cancers. The RN on this unit will be gain experience in the various aspects of caring for patients with cancer.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

Chemotherapy administration
ONS Certification
End of life care
Time management skills
Prioritization of care
Patient and family education

Qualifications:

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
