Position:Medical Assistant (Endocrinology)

Location: Encinitas, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time (7:30am - 4:00pm)

Hourly Range: $19 - $23

About Us:

San Diego Coastal Endocrinology is a specialty practice that addresses disorders of the endocrine system. We provide compassionate care and treatment for even the most complex hormone disorders.

About the Role:

The MA’s role supports our business by performing quality patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of an RN, LVN, PA, NP, or physician. The primary focus of the Medical Assistant is to provide excellent patient care and always protect patient and employee confidentiality.

Responsibilities

·Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.

·Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.

·Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.

·Provides proper, direct patient care in assigned areas.

·Assists provider in obtaining informed consent, setting up for and performing FNA of thyroid nodules, labeling, and processing samples with careful attention to details including sample site and accurate name, dob, and date.

·Educates and trains pt on admin. of sq meds, use of continuous glucose monitoring devices, and insulin regimens according to provider instructions.

·Downloads data from insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.

·Obtains the results of recent lab at the time of rooming patients.

·Provide support in AMP GIC and MIPS metrics for quality reporting.

·Assist with medical records requests.

·Demonstrates a courteous, respectful, and helpful attitude when working with patients.

·Takes patient’s vital signs, and documents in the EHR system, and provides personalized patient care.

·Safely collects and handles patient lab specimens and reports the results to the patient by telephone.

·Responsible for accurate administration of medications as appropriate.

·Accountable for following clinic policies and procedures for infection control when handling and disposing of infections and/or hazardous waste materials.

Qualifications

·High School Diploma or equivalent certification (Required)

·Minimum of 6 months of MA experience (Required)

·1-2 years of experience (Preferred)

·Medical Assistant Certificate or CPR Certification (Preferred)

Benefits

Medical benefits are fully paid after 90 days of employment, and 401(k) eligibility begins after one year of service.
