About the Role:

The STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) position at Wooster Community Hospital is a vital role within our healthcare team, focusing on providing high-quality care to patients in a skilled nursing facility. The primary end result of this position is to ensure that patients receive compassionate and effective assistance with their daily living activities, promoting their comfort and well-being. This role requires a commitment to maintaining patient dignity and respect while delivering essential support in a hospital setting. The STNA will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient health and report any changes in condition. Ultimately, the STNA contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and recovery process, making a positive impact on the lives of those in our care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current STNA certification in the state of Ohio.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift and move patients safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or rehabilitation.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any changes to nursing staff.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement care plans and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
