HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical unit. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment. New grads are welcomed to apply.

Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.

Position Specifics:

Department: Medical/Surgical (6:1 ratio). Swing bed population from outside facilities, medical inpatients, New Vision program (medical stabilization of detox from drugs or alcohol), and IV infusion clinic (0-7 people in one day but usually less). Patients typically require less heavy care and can do more for themselves. Wonderful team, works well together, and made to feel like family.
Schedule: Full-Time Nights (36 hours/week; 6:45pm-7:15am) with every other weekend rotation. Weekend only possibility (Fri-Sun 6:45-7:15).

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Compensation that aligns with experience. Shift differentials for night, weekend, and call on top of base rate!

Education Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.

Experience Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Pay Range:

$30.00 - $46.30

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
