The Role: Imaging RN Supervisor
The Imaging RN Supervisor oversees nursing operations across multiple specialized areas, including Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Vascular Access, Breast Care, and Infusion Clinics. This leadership role ensures high-quality patient care by supervising and supporting nursing staff, coordinating patient care, and optimizing workflows. Key responsibilities include staff management, scheduling, performance evaluations, compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The supervisor ensures proper clinical oversight for procedures, patient education, and safety, while also managing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring operational efficiency. Additionally, this role involves promoting professional development, quality improvement, and emergency preparedness to deliver compassionate, efficient, and safe patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Responds to staff requests for assistance with providing or managing direct patient care in complex or difficult matters.
- Determines, coordinates, and monitors the flow of patients between units to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet service level objectives.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes. Coordinates patient care services with staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Responds to complaints/conflicts and manages through established channels. Makes administrative decisions in the absence of the Department Manager/Director.
Qualifications:
- Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion is required
- Experience in Imaging Nursing is preferred
- 3-5 years in a leadership role within interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or a related specialty is preferred
- Prior experience with conscious sedation, helpful
- BLS and ACLS preferred upon hire
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
