The Clinical Coordinator ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all clinical functions for the practice. The Clinical Coordinator performs, coordinates, and supervises clinical functions for the clinic. This role collaborates with other healthcare disciplines to meet the needs of patients and families, supports customer service excellence, and promotes high-quality care. The Clinical Coordinator supports referrals coordination, focusing on educating referring providers about clinic services, promoting patient referrals, and fostering collaboration to increase clinic volume.
We are developing a collaboration with a tertiary care center to provide virtual and onsite consultations for patients within our community with cancer related needs. Consultations will be focused in the areas of surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation, cellular therapy and transplantation. The Clinical Coordinator will participate in virtual consultations to facilitate seamless coordination of care between Cayuga Health and the partnering tertiary care center. This will be a unique role within our nursing structure requiring detailed knowledge and experience in medical oncology, excellent communication skills, public speaking skills, willingness to perform outreach within the community to foster awareness of this program and capacity to travel periodically to the partner tertiary care center to strengthen this collaboration. The Clinical Coordination will spend the majority of their time at Cayuga Park but will provide education and awareness within the region with occasional travel outside of the region.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee clinical functions, ensuring compliance with Cayuga Medical Associates' Clinical Policies and Procedures.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Clinical Trials Manager, and System Director to prepare a master clinical schedule.
- Serve as a main point of contact and liaison between the clinic and the tertiary partner.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with tertiary partner management, providers and staff.
- Act as a Referral Coordinator in collaboration with Office Coordinator and leadership team, focusing on educating referring providers about clinic services, promoting patient referrals, and fostering collaboration to increase clinic volume. Specifically, you will perform outreach to Cayuga Health and local providers to educate about this unique service. Also, you will perform frequent outreach to the members of the community to educate about this unique service.
- Manage referral intake, ensure smooth transitions of care, and actively address provider concerns (both local providers and providers at tertiary center)
- Maintain policies and procedures specific to the clinical site.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with management.
- Support a patient-first philosophy, engaging in service recovery when necessary.
- Exhibit initiative, enthusiasm, collegiality, and teamwork in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Current RN licensure in New York State.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Minimum of two years of oncology nursing experience in a physician's office setting.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in public speaking
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical and AV equipment.
- M.S. nursing or health policy

Pay Range Disclosure:
- $79,000 to $93,000 per year
