OverviewFairview Health Services is hiring a SWAT Registered Nurse (RN) on the Float Pool at the Woodwinds Hospital located in Woodbury, MN.
The SWAT RN will float to a variety of units to serve as a clinical resource for Woodwinds Hospital. The highly skilled SWAT RN responds to codes, rapid responses, and assists in bedside procedures to support patient care. Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it’s the only hospital in the Southeast Metro area. Schedule: This position will be working a 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks) on an 12-hour Night shift, with a variable schedule, an every third weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

About Our SWAT Float Pool Department at Woodwinds Hospital:
- The SWAT RN rounds on all nursing units and assists with clinically complex patient cares, difficult IV starts, and shares their clinical knowledge and expertise to help guide and support nursing staff through clinical situations.
- Will respond to codes, rapid responses, and support advanced cardiac life situations throughout the hospital.
- Patient Population: Ages 18+
- Acute care experience, telemetry experience, and critical thinking skills are all important to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities Job DescriptionAs a SWAT RN, you will be responsible for:
- Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the Woodwinds nursing vision and strategy.
- Uses the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to coordinate outcome focused patient care. Throughout this process, also understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's Theory of Caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association whenever comprehensive therapy is offered.
- Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding the plan of care.
- Assesses and documents learning needs of the patient and family. Develops an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.
- Aligns with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.
- Actively participates in the development and achievement of department goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement).
- Maintains knowledge of, and aligns with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
- Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
- One Year of Acute Care RN Experience in the ER or ICU
- At least 3 years of total experience working as an RN
- Telemetry Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- Acute Care Experience
- Ultrasound IV Trained
- Proficient at PIV Placement
