This is a full-time (0.8 - 1.0 Status) day shift Medical Assistant position in the CPG Children's Primary Care department.
Major duty is to assist physicians and nurses with patients. This includes: greeting, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vitals, height, weight, histories, updating medications, developing and maintaining patient education materials, preparing patient equipment and medication prescriptions for the Physician, phoning in prescription refills with Physician’s approval, charting, preparing informed consent forms for invasive procedures, calling physician orders to other health provider agencies, i.e. home health, nursing home, therapists, securing x-ray films and preparing labs for doctors, ordering clinical supplies, cleaning exam rooms, maintaining instruments, removing outdated medications, administering vaccinations. Will also entail occasionally filling in for patient access: checking in patients, answering the phone, filing and pulling charts.
Minimum Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent and advanced training to completion in a medical assistant program or certified nurse aid program.
- One to two years experience in medical field.
- Medical Terminology.
- BLS upon hire; Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Must become Registered or Certified Medical Assistant within 18 months.

- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
