Family Medicine at Lakeshore seeks a full- time Nurse Practitioner with the ability to support and provide care of pediatric to adult patients in an Ambulatory Clinical Setting. The Advance Practice Provider will have a critical role in the outpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include triage, in-basket management, medication and diagnostic ordering, interpretation of test, and responding to messages and phone calls. Other responsibilities also include patient examination and assessment, diagnosis, and planning; treatment implementation, coordination, and continuity; performance of specific procedures, development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality care, education of patients, patients, families, and other health care practitioners.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $128.67 - $128.67 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

Required Qualifications

Minimum of fifteen (15) plus years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient Primary Care or in Family Medicine
Provided newborns, pediatric, adult, geriatric, and end-of-life patient care as part of their clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
Experience in performing initial prenatal intake, genetic counseling, and follow-up prenatal visits
Maintained a panel of continuity patients providing full spectrum primary care
Have experience with clinical documentation in an electronic health record- EPIC
Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position
Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

Precept Nurse Practitioners and medical students
Act as a clinical mentor to Nurse practitioners to colleagues
Assist with triage/ advice as needed

License/Certification

California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position.
Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.

Hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
Complete a BRN recognized graduate master’s degree program as a nurse practitioner.
Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
Current AHA BLS as minimum requirement.
State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.
Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
