Prior to founding IntelyCare, Chris was a long-term care nurse for 10+ years and a family nurse practitioner for one year. Q&A

IntelyCare: What is your role at IntelyCare?

Chris: “I currently serve as the Chief Nursing Officer and have a focus on helping successfully launch our new markets and states that we are expanding into. As an entrepreneur in residence, I often help out with various company initiatives to support advocating for nurses and nursing assistants to live a better life.”

IntelyCare: What does Nursing Professionals Week mean to you?

Chris: “Nursing Professionals Week is a time for us to relax and celebrate. Our roles are often stressful, and we’re often underappreciated. My mission is to help give nurses extra time around this week to recharge their engines.”

IntelyCare: Why do you think education is so important?

Chris: “Continuous education (both formal and informal) is vital to anyone who wants to perform at the highest level.”

IntelyCare: What do you think everyone should understand about what it means to be a nurse?

Chris: “It’s not easy and it isn’t like a typical corporate job. The conditions we face are often unpredictable, but at the same time, the ability to care for an individual in need can be one of the most rewarding professions one can be part of.”

IntelyCare: What do you think every nurse should understand about the importance of self-care?

Chris: “Nurses need a work-life balance that allows for downtime. It’s so easy to get burned out, and our feelings towards our profession can quickly change if we don’t get this time to recharge.”
