Q&A
IntelyCare: What does Nursing Professionals Week mean to you?
Ashly: “Nursing Professionals Week is for celebrating nurses for their hard work and dedication to caring for their patients. It focuses on the advancement of the nursing field and how we have grown as professional caregivers. I personally believe it provides a time for everyone to show their appreciation to a nurse or nurses.”
IntelyCare: What does education mean to you?
Ashly: “Education is an opportunity to learn and grow as an individual. In order to advance ourselves, we must keep learning new things and taking on challenges in life. When we think about education we think about school and homework, but it is more than that. It is learning life skills and being able to teach the younger generation.”
IntelyCare: What do you think every nurse should understand about the importance of self-care?
Ashly: “I think every nurse should understand that self-care is important because we cannot provide the best care if we are not taking care of ourselves. It can be challenging at times to care for ourselves but finding the time is key to our success. Another point to mention is that being a nurse is demanding both physically and mentally and it is important to remember that it is ok to ask for help. We are always concerned about making sure everyone around us is taken care of, and we often forget to take a moment for ourselves.”
