Job Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality nursing care in acute facilities in nearby areas
- Helping patients with activities of daily living by serving meals, feeding as needed, and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals
- Ambulating, turning, and positioning patients throughout the day and transporting them within the facility as needed
- Providing patient comfort by utilizing available resources and materials, answering patients’ call lights and requests, and reporting observations of the patient to the nursing supervisor
- Maintaining patient safety by checking and documenting vital signs and weight
- Recording intake and output information and performing point of care (POC) testing to include glucose checks (when permitted by scope of practice and facility policies)
- Documenting actions by charting, completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Ensuring the confidentiality of patient information
- Adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining licensure
Qualifications and Skills
- Active, unencumbered New Hampshire LNA license
- Successful completion of state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency exam
- 2 years experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) or related role
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Immunizations as required
